Amber polishing recipe
for 10L bowl
Things you will need:
4.5 kg of amber
4.5 kg of ceramic CeraMix shapes
Dolfin powders 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Dolfin S3 liquid
Water
Glass balls
Instructions:
-
Put the ceramic shapes and amber into a tumbler, add 500 ml of water, turn on the machine and wait until the amber and shapes mix. Then add 200 grams of Dolfin 1 powder and 20 ml of Dolfin S3 liquid. The mixture should be processed for 12 to 24 hours. If you notice that the water has evaporated and the mixture is not working well, add 100 ml of water and 20 ml of Dolfin S3 liquid.
-
After 12 hours, rinse everything thoroughly. Put the mixture back into the tumbler, add 400 grams of Dolfin 2 powder, 400 ml of water, and 20 ml of Dolfin S3 liquid. Process for another 12 to 24 hours.
-
Repeat step 2, but this time add Dolfin 3 powder. Process for 12 to 24 hours.
-
Repeat step 2, but this time add Dolfin 4 powder. Process for 12 to 24 hours. Rinse the amber thoroughly after each step.
-
Rinse everything thoroughly and separate the amber from the ceramic shapes. Put glass balls (mixing two different sizes is recommended) into a separate tumbler, fill 2/3 of the tumbler's volume with balls and add 1/3 of the volume of prepared amber, 400 grams of Dolfin 5 powder and about 1L of water. Process for 12 to 24 hours. Repeat the process until the entire amber is polished.
-
If you want to make the amber even more shiny, put it into glass beads mixed with water and a small amount of Ludwik (be careful not to add too much Ludwik, as it will create foam. Ludwik is a Dish soap) for 5 hours.
